Sleep Study Process
Serving your healthcare needs is our top priority. We commit to making you feel comfortable with your services from your initial contact with us throughout the treatment process. There are more than 80 types of sleep related disorders that may occur during your lifetime. Our staff specializes in working together to provide comprehensive sleep medicine services in a compassionate and caring manner.
You may come to the Sleep Health Center after being referred by your physician or after calling and making an appointment to see one of our providers on your own. We enjoy accepting new patients into our practice. You can provide a variety of information that will assist us in your treatment. Please visit our New Patient Forms to download and print our forms. Complete these forms and bring them with you when you come to the Center.
We specialize in the delivery of diagnostic and treatment services to determine the presence of sleep-related disorders. Testing takes place at our Centers and is performed by specialized technologists trained in providing these services. Our Centers were designed with your comfort in mind. Depending on the sleep disorder you are experiencing, it may be recommended that you undergo overnight or daytime sleep testing. We perform testing in all three locations.
During the study, your sleep will be monitored by a Technologists. They will use technical equipment in a separate room to monitor your brain and body functions. You will be able to sleep in your customary position, although during the night, the technologist may ask you to try to spend some time sleeping on your back. You will wearing electrodes and sensors to assist in gathering clinical data about your sleep . Should you need assistance getting up during the study, the technologist will hear you and assist you to get up.

What happens after my study?
Analyzing and interpreting the data gathered during your sleep study is a complex process. Many hours or work are required by specially trained technologists in order to fully understand data. The process is called "scoring" the study. Once the study is scored, it is interpreted by our physicians. This process may take several days. When you leave the Center, your technologist will provide you with follow up instructions regarding further care. Your follow up instructions will be based on what type of testing you completed, and your physician's instructions.
Follow Up Care
Your health is very important to us. We care about how well you are sleeping and how this impacts your overall health. We will see you on a routine basis to monitor your progress. We have staff devoted to assisting our patients with CPAP or BiPAP therapy that may be prescribed for them. Choosing the right equipment and supporting your adjustments are keys to successful treatment.
